Miriam Nova and Justin Flylar are 24

I don’t get to see Jacob as much as I should, he lives just down the street and can walk over anytime. We’ve started trying to have dinner every week.

Tamara doesn’t always join us.  I know something is up as Jacob seems more relaxed when she isn’t around.  I guess he’ll tell me when he’s ready.

About once a month we’ve been trying to get the college gang together for an evening out.  We don’t tend to go anywhere fancy, it’s often just out to a diner downtown.

It’s always great to catch up even though we are all in very different places in our lives.  Edward, Claire, Ivy and Daniel with young kids.  Bailey, Juan, Miriam and I happy being child free.

With being a starter on the Chantilly Football team I’m being recognized a lot more at the gym.  I usually don’t mind it but occasionally there is someone that will just follow me around.  It can get a little creepy.

I'm now making a lot more money so Miriam and I decided to buy a vacation home instead of a house in Chantilly.  My parents recently bought a large cabin in Three Lakes so we decided to buy a small cabin there too.

It needs some work but for now it’s a nice place we can go to get away from the city even if it is only for a few days.

December 2015: Becker

December 2015: Kevin and Holly Becker are 66. Claire Becker is 28, Edward Becker is 26, Julian is 4 and William is 1.






Edward:  Julian and William are the best of friends.  They never fight over toys and are always running to hug each other.







Despite the age difference we are currently potty training both boys.  William just wants to do everything that Julian is doing.







We get so much help from my parents so I’m always glad when the take the chance to go out for the evening on their own.  Mum always complains that all Dad wants to eat is cake when they go out but I think she inwardly smiles at it.







They always talk about how the music was good or bad for dancing. Lately they seem to be enjoying the music.  I’m sure they also play a bit of pool, it’s their favourite pastime and has been since their university days.






We took the opportunity to spend a night away from the boys.  It’s the first time since we became parents.  There is a new small hotel in Bluewater Village that we decided to try out.







The first thing Claire did was have a long bubble bath with no worry about being disturbed by one or both of the boys.







We went down for pre dinner drinks and then dinner.







After dinner  I spend some time playing the piano in the lobby.  There was a young boy staying there that seemed to really enjoy it.  I think Claire did to.







The morning before we left Claire had a massage.  It was a really nice to get away and we will defiantly come back to this hotel.







The break was defiantly what we needed, we didn’t seem to mind the next morning when the boys came to our room way too early to play.

December 2015: University

December 2015:  Penny McArthur, Gabriella Gorey, Ira Chin, Colin Pitts, Kea Kwa and Stewart Newson are 19.









The biggest surprise this semester was Kea’s pregnancy.  Even she didn't realize she was pregnant till she started having Braxton hicks.










Brice Kwa was born November 7th.  Kea moved in with her parents for the rest of the semester and the University allowed Kea to do most of her course work remotely.









Penny couldn't seem to stay away from Stewart, at least for the beginning of the semester.










Then things went weird with Stewart, he always seemed to be there when Penny was spending time with Clay.










Gabriella has been spending more and more time alone in her dorm room.  Working on her designs or writing term papers.  Not much time left for Ira.









Ira didn't get along with one of Gabriella’s profs.  Travis is a designer for the theater when he’s not teaching at the university.

November 2015: Ngai

November 2015: Daniel Becker and Ivy Ngai are 26, Chloe is 2 and Lara is 1.




Ivy:  Lara has been waking up a lot at night and the only one who seems to be able to get her back to sleep is Daniel.  He doesn’t complain about it, I think he likes the extra cuddles he gets and he doesn't seem all that tired in the morning.




With the two girls and all the toys we now have this house seems to be getting a little small for us.  I’m just not sure where we want to live.  I work downtown and Daniel works in Chantilly but I think he’s not as happy as he used to be before they combined the upper and lower schools.




I’ve started thinking about wedding stuff so one day after work I went into a bridal shop.  I was very disappointed, the staff were less than helpful and I saw nothing that I liked.




Daniel's parents came over on the weekend to take care of the girls while we went out on a date.  We had lunch with them before we went out.




We didn’t go anywhere special just a diner downtown that we used to go to a lot.



We finally had a chance to talk about the wedding and things going on with Daniel at work.  We haven’t set a date for the wedding but we think this summer would be nice time of year.



  Daniel mentioned a conversation he had with Claire, she had heard that the school in the downtown area was expanding ad they might want more teachers.  It might be a bit more challenging as the type of kids going there don’t all have money and support at home.  I think Daniel likes the idea of the challenge.  If Daniel worked downtown maybe we might want to move there too.




I had Bailey over to sort out wedding plans, she has a friend who is  a designer and had recently done the wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses for a wedding.




I asked Bailey about living downtown, I’m not even sure if it’s what we want.  Bailey told me all about the area where she an Juan have an apartment and that there are some nice houses down the street.  It’s also close to the school and not as busy as the main downtown core.
